I recently encountered this error message while attempting to play HL2:
Half-Life 2DM: hl2.exe -- Application Error.
The instruction at "0X2406dd69" referenced memory at "0X010efacc." The memory could not be "read'"
Click OK to terminate the program.
The Valve intro comes up and hl2 attempts to load, but the error message pops up. I've attempted to load the game in each of my cd/dvd bays but get the same message. The game has always in the past performed great. I run Windows XP prof, Dell XPS machine. Any suggestions? I would appreciate any help anyone is willing to give. Thanks in advance.
