Im thinking about getting a mac powerbook. YES I SOUND CRAZY, but Ive always used PC's and this is pretty much for college so if I dont like it, I can get rid of it next year or something, but anyways. Does anyone know if they are gonna port it (if thats the right term) to the mac format?

Thanks guys

Gabe's actual sentiment was that if the window's release was popular enough it would get ported to "other platforms", he didn't mention mac specifically but I'd assume that'd be the first one to get it next to windows (market share n all). Practically, I doubt it'll happen unless half-life 2 is like the #1 all time best seller ever on windows and valve has more money than it knows what to do with. In addition to changing all the direct x code to opengl, they'd have to port steam, the mods, and make sure every patch worked on the other platforms, I really doubt that's going to happen, but hey you never know.

Personally I'd get an alienware, then you're sure to be able to play half-life 2. Windows can be made as "pretty" (if that's what you'd call it) as OS X in about 20 minutes if you go check out desktop mod web sites, I can't imagine any other reason to consider a mac, they have nothing you can't get for wintel/winamd cheaper and faster.

I would seriously doubt it making it to Macs. Stick with a good windows based laptop, preferebly a newer one with the 9600 onboard, or maybe its the 9500.... anyways there are decent gaming laptops out there nowadays.
