#1. what was the point of stealing the source code? those hackers want to play hl2 as much as we do. all that happens now is that they will sit wit some useless info while everything gets pushed back and redone.
#2. hl2 missing the holiday season which is going to have really strong fpshooters is going to cost valve/vivendi more money they seem to know. when hl2 comes out the new fpshooters would have established themselves leading to continued purchases thru the off season. where as half life 2 will pretty much have its primary audience and not many new buyers if other games become popular wit the mod community. the delay from sept 30th holiday season was fine, and would prolly ensure more sales, this will definately hurt things
#3. whats stopping these hackers from breaking in again once everything gets recoded? april 2004 is an optimistic estimate, valve may find out that they going to need more time if complications arise, there could be vivendi/valve troubles, this could very possibly become another duke nukem when its done, which is sad coz its not entirely valves fault
