HL2 fov problem... sv_cheats 1 makes no difference...

Nothing happens when i type "fov 110" in the console.
I did type in "sv_cheats 1".

When i only type "fov" i get the following message: ""fov" is "75""

Anyone ?

Field of View

Specifies the character's Field of View (fov), i.e. the total angle which can be viewed at once. Default is 75, higher values create more of a "fish-eyed" view, lower angles create a zoomed view.

oh... cool. so whats this dudes problem? how come it dont work? ( Ive never tried this ) sounds like it isnt something that needs sv_cheats 1 enabled... maybe its sv_fov # just a guess.

I honestly don't know why it's not working for him. I tried it and it works just fine for me. I really have no suggestions.

Validate maybe?

maybe buy the game! ha! no im just kidding, its not fair to assume every one who needs help has a pirated game... however in a blog message someplace on then net by the guy in charge of...something at Ritual ( those dudes who made Sin:emergence... you all know.. ) he said that in his quest to provide service to those who needed help he found that more then half the people he was helping or trying to help had a pirated game. People where haveing problems with bugs and such steam had already fixed with updates and all they could do was respond with " whats steam? "

I've found that if i enter these lines and then load a game
the game starts out at fov 110 and then smoothly reverses back to fov 75:

sv_cheats 1
default_fov 110
fov 110

Of course it's NOT a pirated copy.:flame:

Hmmm i've found a solution:

Enter "restart" in the console after you've met barney and made it out past
the loading screen. After that it should be possible to change the FOV.
