HL2: Fueled Beta Update

Ever have one of those days where you just want to jump in a sports car and scorch through a derelict driver's playground with your crazy friends? No? Wimp. Well, Half-Life 2: Fueled has gone and done it anyway. [br]
As well as the newest update for the ongoing Beta, which adds carjacking and gamemode support, the Fueled team have fired up their brand new 16 player dedicated server for us to mess around in. [br]

I tried it.

I don't think they've changed any of the cars handling from the default buggy. You press left, then 30 minutes later the car actually decides to turn. I've removed this mod from my HD.

Downloaded about 2 hours ago. Cars handle real badly and i found i was removing it after 20 mins as it was simply unplayable due to bugs and poor handling control.

Will send them comments so as to improve though.

Yeah, it kinda just did die..it was one of my favorite mods too

But yeah, I'm downloading this mod now..will see if I like it soon :O

My name is Greg Johnson, and I am the founder of Fueled.

Because we were on digg.com, our server was bombarded with traffic. So much so that our server admin, a 7 year linux veteran and all around programming guru couldn't do anything more than recover the database and vhost directory. We moved it to one of our more powerful servers, but there are some parts of it that we still need to fix.

You can register now though, and it does not require email verification. The downloads page will be updated, but the files you want will be in the left-hand sidebar.

If you want to help out with the complaints I see here, namely the sluggish vehicle movement (which is something we are really working hard on), please visit the forums. A lot of explanations can be found there.

We realize that this mod is hardly releasable, but we decided to have an open beta development environment rather than just having a select few. Unfortunately the mod has been spammed out due to places like hl2files.com. That is the only reason I decided to email the major hl2 news sites. But my press release wasn't included.

The dedicated servers we have up are pretty unstable due to the BFG, which is being adjusted and fixed as we speak. As such, the servers crash. A lot. We get them back up as soon as we can though.

For those of you willing to rough it out through the hard times with us, we really appreciate it. To those of you that deleted the mod 5 minutes after installing it: I understand your frustration, believe me - but no mod starts out perfect. We're just not afraid to hide that fact. Give it time though, and it will get better. I promise.

I like some of the car models, and the fact that you can jack someone elses car.
Cool feature is the distruction of cars!!!

It is a cool mod. With the neat destruction stuff it is too bad that you could built your own car.

I mean, start with a body then use the g-gun to pick up an engine and drop it in, pick up a super/turbo crager and drop it in, that would be really cool.

Just a sugestion, change the engone noise in the next release. Having a lamborgini and a mini cooper sound the same is just wrong.
