I've read a few threads and there seems to be some confusion: Half-life 2 has multiplayer. Half-life 2 has no multiplayer. CS:S is Half-Life 2's mutliplayer. CS:S is not...etc etc etc. I don't know what is fiction and what is truth.
(Although I do know CS/CS:S isn't HL2's mp: it's a total-conversion and thus is an entirely new game)
Now, whether or not Half-life 2 has it's own internal multiplayer component, who really cares? Source can be edited and modified so heavily and easily that anybody with half a brain can create their own multiplayer games. Seriously, just leave it up to the creative fans and the great mod teams(DoD, NS, etc) to create something fun for us!
