hey guys, i seem to be having this little problem with my hl2, whenever i load up ep2, i get this problem where the barrells and a few other models are wireframe and some other things are purple and black checkerboard aka missing texture, i have tried reinstalling and that didnt work, they also are messed up in gmod when i spawn them

Are you sure your computer is competent enough to run the game? That's a bit of a silly question, considering it's 2010, but even I still have a PC or two that can't run it.
Since EP2 runs on a slightly different version of Source, outdated hardware or graphics drivers may be the problem.

Okay good, just needed to make that clear.
First, while it's installed, right click it on the steam list, click properties, local files, and hit 'check integrity of game cache'.
Solves around 60% of problems. It's a good first try.
