HL2 Mod help needed

Hi,

I just bought HL2 this afternoon and i allready don't like the SP xD (I don't like Aliens and stuff) so I downloaded some mods (Like: Garry's Mod) but the thing is, the installer says it has to be installed in "E:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\SourceMods\GMod 9" if i install it it should appear in steam under My Games, But that is what doesn't happend.

Have you tried restarting Steam after the installation?

Yeah, Several times

And steam is up to date
