I noticed the clan have been playing some serious BF2 games already and against my will, I missed it.

I have one question:

Just how do I find out when you guys are planning to play?

I take it you don't plan it in advance, you just start playing?

I mean, at least one day's notice in advance, should be minimum.
How about a game on saturday? Most people should have the game by then.

well, considering I don't have bf2 nor do I plan to get it... I was just guessing :E

try irc. :p

/me wonders if anyone bothers to read her sticky on this subject.

Xfire, one of us (ME, MWAHAHA) says "up for a game?" to a bunch of people, we find a server, send the IP, we all join, kick ass.

other people join by seeing our IP.

I already know all the people that I can depend on, what their best roles are, their strengths and their attitudes.
we have logged MANY hours together, in the demo as a squad, and now we begin to accrue rank in BF2.

if you want to take teamplay seriously, join a game which has one of the prominent BF2 hl2.net players. (if you read these forums you know who they are)
however don't always expect to be able to get into the primary hl2.net squad, there are many members and when it comes to slots it's first come first served (and those who have experience with the squad under their belt, obviously get first dibs on said slots)

I did read the sticky, mind you, and I believe that there should be some notice on the forums or pherhaps some IRC channel where you can find out about the games other than just asking around on xfire.

too much work, and we tried broadcasting IP's on the forums, it just lead to a lot of "today's game" threads (aka spam).

xfire you just click on the friend's info rollout and it tells you the IP of the server that person is playing on.
if that's not easy enough I dunno what is.

It's not the fact that it's hard to find out, it's just that I would like to have it planned in advance. Otherwise I have to keep active 24/7 if I don't want to miss anything. And believe me, I have other things to do this summer than just playing BF2.

most games are made up on the fly, as like you, most of us have other things to do besides BF2.
generally we fire up xfire, see who is online, form at least a six man squad from that selection and one of us gets an IP.

you don't have to keep active 24/7 at all, just fire up xfire and see if a game is on when you are online... whenever us Hl2.netters play we have xfire open guaranteed.
if there is a game in progress just join the IP.
if not, means no one is playing, we are off doing other stuff.

my schedule at least, doesn't allow me to set times and dates to play. when I get some free time Im hitting the battlefield.

Yeah, alright, fine. No planning in advance, then.
Just join if you find a game. Got it.

...although you may feel free to tell me if there are any game going on, wether or not I am playing something else for the moment.

Just look on Xfire every so often - if there's a number of people playing BF2 on the same server, then it's safe to assume that a game is on.

Usually someone important like foxtrot or redundant joins a game, and we all follow like the little pack rabits we are.
