Hey guys. I need your help. I have a problem, I have this program that keeps showing up on my computer under the name of defragfatz.exe, I googled that and it showed up with nothing, nadda. I also did a search for the file name and found nothing.

Anyway, whenever I see this program running it shuts down my internet, when this program runs my internet just doesnt work. It either becomes real slow, or just wont load the webpage. Once I end the program with entitall2 everything works again.

It says its a system file which leads be to beleive its hiding somewhere in that file, but I cant find it using the search button. It also doesnt show up on virus checks.

I swear someone has it out for my computer, EVERY time I re-format I end up with a shitload of viruses. It doesnt make sense.

Anyway I got rid of all the virus's, I just want to know how to end this program from showing up in my process's.

Anyone know how? Also can anyone explain why I keep ending up with virus's everytime I reformat and connect to the internet? Should I change my IP adress, maybe someone is hacking me or something. I dont know Im not a computer wizz.

Well im no computer genius but if this problem is being caused by spyware are adware i would suggest ad-aware and you can get this program here:Ad-Aware once your on that webpage, on the left toolbar under resources click on "download" then at the bottom of that page click on the download.com mirror. As far as the problem with the viruses showing up after a reformat you lost me, sorry i couldn't be of more help.

i actually prefer a-aware over spybot just because spybot fails to find some stuff but it's better than nothing.

Much better IMHO but I like to use both. Why? Because both pickup different things. I remember when it was ATTACK OF THE SPYWARE on the sinkoman front, I would run Spybot Search and Destroy and kill lots of stuff, then run adaware and kill more stuff (not the SSD stuff adaware picks up vice versa)

As for the reformats, my friend told me that happend when he built his new comp. He said he had to reformat within 2 days of getting it up and running. He told me to install a virus scanner and blocker before registering windows or connecting your ethernet cable because the second he logged on... BAM!

You'd hafta install the drivers for your vid card from the cd before upgrading to the most recent ones on the internet, but a small price to pay for peace and prosperity in the processor planes and harddrive heaven.

Are you using Internet Explorer? Because a couple months ago I was using it and I kept getting so much Spyware/Adware and viruses and the only way to get rid of them all is to re-format since the programs couldn't delete them. If your using IE I suggest switching to Mozilla Firefox. It's much better in security and has a pop-up blocker and many other things that IE doesn't have. I haven't got any viruses since I've been using Mozilla and no serious spyware/adware.

is a very decent Java based AntiVirus software.... once that's established your system is clear, get Adaware on it and do a FULL system scan.

Are you re-installing off original CD's?

Keep you PC off the net until you have your firewall setup properly.

I have norton system works, both ad-aware and spybot. Nothing is picking up this defragfatz.exe. Ill try the java based virus checker.
