HL2.NET Private or Public BF2 server

Is there any plans on getting a HL2.net BF2 server going? I'd really like to have a server I can hop on whenever I want to play with HL2.Netters.

I'd think that having both a public and a privat that goes online during games would be cool. Maybe give server access to Zerimski and the likes so whenever we get a game together, one of the people with access just has to be in on it and they'll start up the client.

So is it going to happen?

Bastards sent me the Leadtek Geforce 6800....NON-GT.

I'm still waiting for them to reply about sending me another one and a fedex label so I can ship it back.

I was thinking about just opening it and using it until I have to send it back They probably wouldn't like that.

Well I had to get it from some website since newegg doesn't have the pci-e version for some reason....

Scratch that...newegg carries them again. It's nice that they could take down the product just long enough for me to buy it from somewhere else and have troubles....wheee. To avoid all this trouble...I think I'm just gonna return this card and ask for a refund and get it from Newegg.

I'd say a 32 player unranked server would be better. Ranked would be nice but it'd be wayyyyy more expensive.

Just checking out your guys' stats...wow, a couple of you guys have played more than me now It's been too long since I've played ;(

Then whenever we want to have a private game, HL2.netters vs HL2.netters, we just ask Zerim (or whomever has server access) and he'll change it to whatever map size we want to play on, and then lock it.

Or if we want a HL2.netters vs The World game, we just jump into our 64 man server and form up squads. Then we wouldn't have any issues with being moved teams and stuff (if it happenes, Zerim could just move us back :upstare: ) and the server would hopefully be as well moderated as the z2 clan server (god I gotta say, the admins on those do an awesome job. Some of my favorite servers).

And to me, being able to play with you guys is much more important than my stats. I mean, sure, it'd be cool discussing like "Oh, remember when Sinkoman got that purple heart that one time!" but I think that the fun is more important that the stats.

Oh and on the text ads, you don't really see them in short posts. Only in the long(ish) ones, where there's more chance of the guy typing stuff like Amd, Western Digital, and Counter Strike.

We'd need more people than Zerimski to moderate and administrate the server. Also, the 64-player server would have insane lag and too many people to moderate. Stick with a 32-player until public demand explodes.

It would be fun to play with you guys, especially against the world.

Well, as I said, it wouldn't just be Zerimski, it's just I think he's the one Mod that plays BF2 the most, but i'm just making assumptions based off what i've seen.

And sixty fours are only laggy if you have a not as good pc (lol) or if they're jamm packed and everybodies in the same chockpoint. If we don't get demand, then the servers will stay half full, and the games won't get laggy.

IMHO 64 man servers are the most versatile. You can play with 8, 16, 32, or 64 and the gameplay experience will be awesome. Not to mention a 32 would fill up to fast, and we'd have to kick innocent public players to make room for hl2.netters.

Well i have 100mbit internet and might get a hold of a decent server soon. I would be willing to host one for you guys but i dont think it will work very good with the ping since im in Sweden and the rest of you is all over the world :S
