right, so we might aswell say who we are voting for now. No need for discussion really, this is entirely to see (imo) how many people are voting for whom.
Be honest :)

btw, im just featuring the main parties, hence the other option.

UK only please :) dont screw this up, you foreigners :monkee:

When I met members of the Communist Party of Great Britain, they all thought I was gay.

EDIT: I think you should add Nationalists to this poll, not the BNP, but SNP and Plaid Cmyru. Also, if you're from Northern Ireland, you have a whole other set to vote for.

Wow, thats rather random o_O

Yeah if a mod can change that it'd be handy. I wasn't sure how to put in the SNP etc, i couldnt put an option for every party, there are too many. So if a mod brownies across this, please put in Nationalists as another option :)

Ha, well... I went down to this "Communist University" thing which involved listening to a few lectures by some Communists whilst different types of Communists interrupted the lecture with various disagreements over minor things.

But anyway, I went down there with my friend, who happens to be gay. Throughout the day, people kept on asking me why I was there. And I answered "I'm here with my friend". After the university, we had to sleep round someone's house. She didn't have a spare bed so she kinda made us sleep on the floor on a kinda futon thing that was folded out. When I was trying to get to sleep (next to my friend) I looked at a comfortable sofa and thought "I wonder why she didn't let one of use sleep on that?".

So anyway, I went back to the comfort of up North. A bit later my friend found out that they all thought we were a couple. And the woman was sorry that we couldn't have a bed to sleep in together. She opened the futon out on the floor because she thought we would've wanted to be close.

Hmm, Well, there's "Nationalist". "Northern Ireland, Republican" and "Northern Ireland, Unionist".

Are they any other general ones I'm missing out?

Well I suppose that could demonstrate the party's whole "equality for all" thing or something. In a really roundabout way. (Yes I am aware I could be talking out my ass.)

Yes, indeed you are.

Heh, I never went into the whole "My party r bettar than your party because..." seemed silly. I went with the party whos beliefs match my own.

Stop it for god’s sake; you're as bad as the other flame baiters

I dont see any flame baiting going on... but whatever...
Just vote, dont post bitches :p

I dont like that idea, make your own mind up man. I disagree with Polls because they make people vote against parties rather than for parties. :(
You're probably just kidding around but... please, dont. make your own mind up on the day!

Funny how the Lib Dems "the third party" are ahead in this particular poll.

Funny to see the conservatives have no votes yet either.

I'm voting Labour btw.

Do you celebrate first may in Britain?

It's called Mayday, right?

I don't think it's celebrated as such, but I remember riots in previous years where communists smashed Macdonald's up and defecated on Winston Churchill's statue.

Bastards.

Or maybe that was just a dream.

Really? Here it's a huge tradition. The socialist democrats, the biggest party in Sweden, and the Left Party and going out to demonstrate against imperialism and capitalism. The problem is, they're the ones in charge, and have been so for almost 70 years. So technically, there're demonstrating against themselves...

I used to, 'cause it's my Birthday.

But now I'm older I think birthdays, christmas and stuff like that are all pointless bullshit.

Oh yeah there's the old tradition too (which has been discontinued, I guess). Nothing to do with socialism though. I don't think there's been that great a socialist movement in the UK.

Traditional English May Day rites and celebrations include Morris dancing, crowning a May Queen, and dancing around a Maypole. In Oxford on May Day, many pubs are open from sunrise. Madrigals are still sung from the roof of the tower in Magdalen College, but the old tradition of throwing red-hot pennies to the crowds gathered on the bridge below has been discontinued

There is, but you have to care. The far-left do go on May Day protests.

The May day demonstrations piss me off because any of the genuine statements of feelings of anti-Capitalism and anti-Globalisation are drowned amidst the acts of the pseudo-political hooligans. Claiming they're Anarchists when really they're just thugs with very little idea about what they're doing. If they were intelligent, they'd realise that kicking seven shades of sh*t out of a McDonalds only makes your cause look like a ruthless pack of chaotic tw*ts.
Such a shame that credibility has to lose out to pugnacious small-minds.

I'm voting Labour btw.

I think it was Winston Churchill who said something along the lines of...
"If you don't vote liberal when you are young, you have no heart. If you do not vote conservative when you're old, you have no brain"

Basically most people here are pretty young... that and it seems just the words Conservative and Liberal have so much stigma attached to them now, especially here because of the politics forum... people see the name and are influenced by that.

They weren't communists, they were just thugs and scum.

I'm voting for Labour, but wouldn't snp be in the "fringe" category with the bnp?

The SNP is not a fringe party in Scotland. They have a good chance of winning seats in Scotland. They don't get much coverage here in England, but they do get a lot in Scotland.

Ok, i was just thinking that the bnp and the snp were the same thing, just in different countries. My apologies.

Not at all. The SNP want more immigration, for example.

We finns just get drunk on the day before may day, that is today.

Yeah, Scotland's actually got a problem with emmigration now, haven't they?

Thats not churchill, was an old english PM called Gladstone. (i googled the phrase.. dont ask me!!)

"There's a great quote from Gladstone, an old prime minister of England," Cross says. "It goes, 'If you're not liberal when you're young, you have no heart, and if you're not conservative when you're old, you've got not brain.' I was pretty liberal when I was young and over the years I've become more conservative."
