Hey if i remember correctly didn't the havok website (http://www.havok.com) have hl2 on their site at one point and time talking about how hl2 uses havok physics? I couldn't find it on there, maybe i over looked it... anyone know what the deal is?

It was first noticed that it was off the site around the time that the source was leaked.

It's possible it has something to do with the leak. After all I suppose Valve could be held responsible for losing the source code and the havok physics engine that was in it. Perhaps the havok company is not very happy with them.

actually I'v never seen HL2 on the Havok website but if you say it was then well i geuss they arn't friends with vlave anymore.

I saw it on the webpage alooong time ago, sometime in june i think.

hmm...does this mean there won't be any decent physics in HL2? or are they having to spend the next few months coding a brand new physics system?

Um, it is in HL2, it's just not on their webpage. It was on their webpage in june but it isn't anymore.

Hmm, it just doesn't make sense... Maybe they are upset with valve, or they don't want people to know havok is in hl2 because they are affraid people will seek out the leak to read the havok code or something. I hope they didn't have to mess with havok, the physics system was the one thing i think they toted the most about hl2, it would be a shame to see an "in house" sollution.

I doubt there is any way that havok could make Valve not use their physics engine unless they took them to court about it.

I think there not on there anymore because they only list there current customers, I don't think valve are getting the next version of Havok or are recieveing support on it due to the leak so they are no longer a customer of Havok so to speak. Note that Team 17 are no longer on there either and they havn't leaked anything.

Well notice Microsoft is on there, AFAIK MS are buying Viveldi, I know that doesn't probably include valve but Viveldi are gonna be publishing it.

Where did you hear that MS is buying Vivendi? That doesn't sound likely.

Isn't Vivendi owned by Universal? Anyways, Vivendi is just a publisher. I don't think MS will have any influence over the decisions Valve makes if they own Vivendi.

Of course the suits at havok didn't want to be associated with VALVe after the security compromise.

On the old site you could read about how closely Havok and VALVe had worked together to perfect havok 2.0 etc.

You can check out the old content at http://oldsite.havok.com

It's Vivendi that is buying every company. There's a conspiracy going on , and I can't believe you guys notice it ... The big guys in Blizzard (Bill Roper etc) left Blizzard because they didn't like the way Vivendi was handling the thing , Vivendi just bought Virgin Music , they are messing Valve up.. IT'S ALL A CONSPIRACY!
