hl2- offline play

hey all,
bought the boxed ver on the w/end but I have a prob. No broadband available in my area and there's I cancelled my 2nd phone line and dialup plan in digust a few weeks ago.

so yeah, how do i install it?! i tried that gcf extractor but get the filesystem_stdio.dll error. I tried grabbing a bunch of the cracks etc but they all assume they're being used on the warez version, so i doesn't work on my store bought ver.

If i can't get it working by the w/end i'll just return it, but i want to give it a shot.

it says internet connection required on the box. what you can do though is go to a friends connect to there internet with your pc and then activate it. then you should be able to play offline when at home.

but i work in IT dev, have coke bottle glasses and an adams' apple the size of a fist & alas, have no friends
