HL2 people won't move through gate

Hi there,

I just got HL2 through Steam, and it seems there's some bugs in there. First I ran into the AI Disabled bug but I got around that. Now it seems that the people in line for the gate won't move (first level). When I get close they turn towards me and don't do anything, and I can't get past. How do I solve this???

Well I chose New Game instead of loading the saved game and this time they all went through the gate and I could pass through. Hope this doesn't mean that I have to finish the gamein one go because the game cannot deal with saved games...

Are you using a 64-bit version of windows? I've heard these problems are more prone to arising with it.

Also validate your HL2 files through Steam to remove any corrupted files.

That was indeed the culprit. HL2 proudly auto-detected 64-bit, but forgot to mention that it doesn't work properly :rolling: Forced it to run in 32-bit mode and all is well now.
