Just bought the game, but when I try to install on my other computer, it says I need an internet connection. Is there anyway you can still play it. :(

Bummer, dude. You've got to connect to the Internet at least once to set up your account and "activate" (not sure if that's the correct jargon) your game. Once you have done that, you can play in offline mode. Can you bring your computer to a friend's house with an Internet connection? Set it up there, make sure offline mode works, and off you go.

Is there any way to get the connection over from this computer I'm on to my other one? How would I do it?

do you have dial up or a high speed connection? either check to see if the other PC has a dial up modem or a network card if you have high speed. If your other PC has either, I'd suggest moving it if need be to where the computer you use to post on the internet is and get it set up there and after your done just move the PC back. more info required for better help

The box states "INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED."

If you have 2 ethernet cards in your main pc you could share the connection from your main pc to the other pc.

Am I right in understanding you have 2 computers, one with internet and one without? If so, one method you could use is to install it on the computer with net access, and make sure it updates completely from the net (so it shows "100%" in 'game properties' in Steam), and that it is ready for 'Offline Mode'. Then do a BIG burn to DVD, of your entire Valve/Steam Folder (might need 2 DVDs for that).

If you then copy those files and folders from DVD to your other PC, using the exact same file paths that you installed it to on the first computer, you should be given the "offline mode" option when you try to run Steam.exe, and should not need the net. Hope you get it running.

(btw is it really worth bashing the guy for not knowing he needed internet? He owns it now so no point rubbing his nose in... The Collector's Edition is being sold by amazon.co.uk with no mention of internet in system requirements, so not every place tells you you need it.)

A very valid point, i hate it when people do that really, start having a go at other people for not noticing a bit of text on the box.
