HL2 problem Need Help!!!!!

Whenever I try to play Half-Life 2 or HL2DM it says this

Half Life 2 DM:hl2.exe-Application Error
The instruction at "0x2406dd69". referenced
memory at "0x01befacc". The memory could
not be read

Counter Strike Source works fine though i don't get an error, it's just for HL2 and HL2DM
Please Help!!!!

There is a big thread on the memory errors but I don't know if there were ever any solutions found.
