Hey guys. I recently just bought a AMD 64 3400+, it's awesome, I also got the AV8 Deluxe MODO by ASUS. I've had a Radeon 9800 XT so I kept that and put that in there. I also decided that I would download Windows x64 (i have XP on there as well) and download Steam. When HL2 finished I booted it up and it gets to where the Main Menu will be loading and all of a sudden I get these two thick Gold Bars running down my monitor that look all distorted, almost like the liquify effect in photoshop. So I continue to let it load, maybe the problem will go away I think, NOPE! Once it does finish loading it goes absolutly psychotic and theres stuff going on everywhere, it's hard to even make out "New Game" and that text.
I'd really appreciate any help. Also I've no idea if a monitor could be a source of problem or sound card or anything. I've got an old Compaq MV740 (thinkin bout getting one of those DELL LCD Flat Panel 20.1 Inch Monitors) and I've got a pretty new Soundblaster Audigy card.
Also everything is at it's latest drivers, including the AMD Driver as well as the new BIOs version.
