hl2 problem

when i start new game
first go:
source fatal error
connection to steam servers lost
then:
the memory could not be "read" click on ok to terminate program
can somebody help me?

sorry i cant help my friend has the same problem to the memory cant be read...someone really should make a thread with help to all of the hl2 hardware related problems. maybe even a sticky so new updates could be added
