HL2 ScreenResolutions!!!

Hi, I mailed Gabe a while ago. .and haven't got an answer..
I really hoped he would answer me, cause I feel like its an important quesiont I would like to have an answer too.

Well, its about screenresolution and I asked him if HL2 will have 1400x1050, being a very very common resolution for laptops...
Considering laptop getting Geforce4 and FX cards, I think its time for game developers count them in as gaming pc's

Not many games have this resolution.. And I would like to play HL2 with max resolution on my laptop, not haveing to choose 1024 and get bad picture..

Anyone that can help me with this?
Or should I email him again!? and again?

Do you mean Gabe?

Is 1400x1050 only used on laptops? If so, then it's very doubtful. But the source engine will automatically scan your system when it does its scalability tests to see what your system is capable of and chose the best resolution for your system.

From what I know, this resolution is only on laptops... I have never seen it on other monitors...

Anyone know for sure if HL2 can be run under 1400x1050?

I doubt you'll even be able to run Half-life 2 on 1400x1052, considering its so damn good looking, and a laptop just doesn't have the juice that a desktop system would.

Hehe, having a P4 2,4 and a geforceFX card, and also 1024 in ram.. I am pretty sure I can run it on that.. and if not I rather have less effects than having to choose another resolution and making the edges looking horrible..

I will mail Gabe again and ask the same question. .
