HL2 solo on 1 computer with 2 players?

Hi !!

I bought hl2 dvd version yesterday.
I register the key with my steam account.
My brother want to play with the game but when autosave is gone, it overwrite my savegames...

Is it possible to play with the same key on the same computer with different steam account?

I'm afraid not...
VALVe made steam work in such a way that a key can only be registered once, in order to prevent you from say, installing your copy of the game on all your friends' PC's.

You'd have to do manual saves so that they are not overwritten.

In theory, but it is illegal to do.

A much better option is to make copies of your latest save games whenever you finish using it. This should be quite easy to do, although I am not at my home PC right now, so I can't look to see what the saves are called. If anyone else knows, post it up.
