The thing about these types of claims is that they're always the same thing. One guy makes one post claiming something extraordinary; then, people ask for proofs (i.e. pics) and the topic starter never answers because it's usually b.s.

I can sort of believe that some retail outlets have got it, i mean it is a world wide release so they would want everyone to get it, plus i swear game has them because i saw lots of boxs today and funny enough they also put up the boxs for it on the shelves saying 'coming soon'.

i know of 2 stores that have it in the back storerooms here in town..no i don't have proof, as i do not work there. A friend of mine works as an overnight shelf-stocker and I had asked her to let me know when they came in(she's about 55). My local EBGames did not have it about 20 minutes ago tho.

I'm sure they'd have the copies by now it only makes since. The game is being released Tuesday. Not like they can play the game anyway if someone were to take one because you need Steam to activate it before you can play. I believe that stores have it because it's less than a week until release.

I think he is telling the truth, most retail stores would have to have it by today. They it is being released on monday so they will need time to set everything up before the weekend.

perhaps some stores have it, but not all.. and seeing as theres still some time before the 16th, that should be plenty to get to stores right around the world

Of course retailers(some) have it by now. I've worked overnight and we got games a week or so before they were scheduled to be released. What's funny is the pink/neon green tape they put around the boxes.*DO NOT SELL BEFORE "date"*.

I think there are stores which have it now, it's only a few days left. But what's the point of it? You HAVE to activate it with Steam before you can play it and that's not possible before 16 Nov 0.00 AM VST (that means Valve Standard Time )

I hope it's really a worldwide release and brazilian stores receive their copies this week, because they usually don't give a f**k about release dates and simply put the games on the shelves as soon as they arrive.

I walked in to my local EB, I am very friendly with the staff there, and the manager who has been a close personal friend of mine for years, asks me to walk to the back of the store, he then proceeds to pull out my CE of Half-Life 2, and they had a ton of boxes of them.
The next hour was me trying like crazy to let me take it home, oh well, I can wait, no delay, no worries, next week needs to hurry up.

hahaaa! same here at our school. one of the IT - teachers blocked all url's with the word "game" (probably also other words) in it. it's been like that since a while.

well.. they have their reasons..

i got to look for stores having hl2 in stock, next monday. maybe i will get it! :thumbs: e-tailer www.okaysoft.de says, they will get it on monday. and it's a reliable online shop here in germany. so, maybe i will find a shop, selling it.
