24 long hours later and still no joy!
I've gone through the entire process a few times and when i click on either the Steam panel or the desktop icon the game just won't launch.
I've disabled all my firewalls and uninstalled my DVD burner software but nothing. Even reinstalled everything a few times.
When i click on the game the "Preparing to play Half Life 2" box comes up. The cd drive runs for a while and then nothing.
I've got a brand new high spec machine so I really don't know what the problem is????
Heard it might be because my DVD drive also has a burner, its a phillips dvd 8601.
Any suggestions?
