Okay, here's the problem.
I have 2 PC's. One that can't play Half-Life 2 & a new one I bought 2 weeks ago that should be able to. The old PC has broadband internet but I don't have a telephone socket in my room and so can't connect my new one to the internet. And I'm not in the mood to spend €100 on a wireless connection. Basically I wanna know if it is possible to play Half-Life 2 without the internet or am I gonna have to bite the bullet and buy a wireless router.

Please help.

Thanks.

it would be easier to get wireless but the only way you will be able to play hl2 is if you brought your computer in the room and decrypted/updated hl2 then you will be able to play.

Thanks,
I will probably do that for the moment but I will get broadband soon enough.

Once you install and update HL2. You start Steam in offline mode and play without a connection. The only problem is updating. I have a similar problem. My laptop can just barely run HL2 and has highish speed internet access. My dad's desktop can run HL2 well but has 56k. I feel your pain.

Network cable.

Or phone line extention cable.

Both are cheap, and easy to sort out. Run them under the house if you have to.
