I bought half-life 2 last night. I installed it, which went fine, then I ran it... took forever to load the menu... then started a game... which took forever to load, the cinematics ran great and where incrediblem then I play it (Its very laggy) for 5 minutes... and when someone says something it starts stuttering and eventually just keeps stuttering and crashes.
I have about double the recomended system requirements.
I have:
2 intel pentium 4 3ghz processors
2 radeon x600 256mb video cards
some bad integrated sound card(someone suggested this might be the problem)
1 gig of ram
windows XP media center
I updated my video cards drivers while I was sleeping and havent tried that out... any suggestions?
Also... Garys mod wont even run... its versions 8 and 9 that Ive tried and wont run.
