I made this test map to play around with NPC spawning and the use of nodes. You start inside a house. When you open one of the doors you start the waves of enemies that swarm around (and in) the house:
WAVE 1 - Slow Zombies
WAVE 2 - Fast Zombies
WAVE 3 - Poison Zombies
WAVE 4 - Combine Soldiers (with SMG1)
WAVE 5 - Elite Combine Soldiers (with AR2)
Well, actually, that's what should happen. The waves last too long (though, I haven't played on anything other than Hard so it might not be so bad on another difficulty level)... so I haven't actually been able to take the time to beat my own map. There may not even be enough ammo for Hard if you don't use the manipulator and/or the crowbar. Speaking of ammo, I need to replace the piles of ammo with the proper supply boxes. It looks a bit messy the way it is now.
Anyway, click here to download the first test version.
NOTE: The following pictures are from when I was just using cheats to give myself weapons since there were none in the map, yet. Also, a few props were replaced or removed since then. I'm just using them to give you an idea of what the map looks like.
