HL3,can it be possible

What are those screenshots? I mean, the graphics must be taken from some game? It doesn't look like a photograph, like the other fake HL3 shots
 
Some of it is just rendered...I think a little here and there is Photoshop on top of the render (the brushing job around the zombie is pretty subpar).
 
It was from some Japenese website, I think it was about constructing an aquarium.
 
You can tell their fake by the frappy HeadCrab models.

Oh, ok. I thought they were like some Unreal 3.0 engine shots, with the headcrabs added with photoshop or something

I'm no graphics expert but:

Render = image not calculated real time

A lot of MOD devs use them to make their mods look good :p
 
every mod that uses rendered images is something that I call, amateuristic, because most of the time, even the renders are poor. They make a model, add a simpel bg and rendere it with radeocity enabled, not even any skill involved in setting up the scene, or any knowledge about lighting.

Games arnt far from looking like that dont worry. 3-4 years tops.
 
Well, just looking at it you should be skeptical about the orange flammable barrel. While they did re-use quite a few sounds from HL1, I don't think they used any graphics whatsoever (maybe the weapon selection font). I guess the leap from HL2 to HL3 isn't going to be as large though, so it's conceivable they'd use some of the same graphics over again. But even so, it's still pretty suspect.

Hopefully these will all work. This is from an EA presentation when they went to a University in the US scoping for future employees. I have a feeling this'll be what we should expect from PS3, Xbox2 and N5.

Don't forget how amazing PS2 looked when it first came out compared to what the PC could do. Prepare to be amazed by the Console toys for the first year or 2 they're out!
 
By the time Valve release the first screenshots of Half-Life 3, there will be so many fake screenies that no one will believe they're actually real.

Not forgetting that the consoles will probably cost less than just a high-end PC graphics card alone, making PC hardware look extremely overpriced when its not even as good

They do look very pretty, but think of the time it takes to make something look like that. The PS3 won't be ready until late next year, so the PC has time to improve on power.

I know that is M$'s plan but i hope they dont make that release date. All we need is for M$ to speed up the life cycle of consoles to compete with the computers, graphically.

Some sites say it will have three IBM 3.5 Ghz (!) CPUs and a high-end ATI graphics card, how can they possibly bring out something that powerful this year at an affordable price?

It's Microsoft, but I highly doubt triple processors. 3.5ghz will be cheap by the end of this year.

The real question is how the PS3 is coming next year at above 4ghz(4.6ghz) at an affordable price?

Yeah I read that somewhere - I nearly creamed myself!

But do you think that's going to be commercially viable? What price are they releasing at - £300/£400? Hmm shop price of a 3.0Ghz Procesor is what, £150 - manufacture price may be as low as £50 - especially at the volume Micro$oft is likely to buy at.

And you just know Ol' Blly Boy is gonna do his best to undersell Sony - maybe even selling at a loss for the first 6 months or something.

Game doesn't look THAT good yet..I have the versus beta. Graphics on high, shadows on very high. As high as it can go. Also I guess it depends on your videocard for the game. Some screens are lookin like that..

well i dont think you will find the xbox2 that amazing,
the xbox2 dev kits have a radeon x800 in them, nothing special, the x850 pci-express is much nicer ;D

im sorry, maybe im wrong here, but as i recall, the PS2 did NOT look amazing when compared with a PC when it came out. it infact, was still way under par in comparison to a PC, and still is way under par.
