This time, it's for real. Bond has 40 days to get the domain registered, but I doubt he will. Most of us former members are joining up here so prepare for an influx of newbies.
 
As long as the newbies show respect, I'll welcome each and every one with open arms.

I can't say the same for most everyone else though. They will get picked on, no doubt. But if they can absorb all the teasing and the bashing they'll receive by the others, they'll be able to find a niche here.
 
It's a real shame if that does happen. I like the fact each site (HL2.net, HL fallout and PHL) all have a slightly different community feel to them. Every one does their bit and it never felt like competition.

Well considering are a long time refugee now swan_song1973 and you've got to know us, perhaps you can make them feel more at home here! I'll do my best to welcome them too, things aren't too different here either...you'll rarely find our site director online either :p

Also if you forum vets drive them away I will hunt you down, they are welcome like any new members. Trolls obviously won't be, but they need a home so show some love damnit.

Yeap this is true, bond has long forgotten us. He also forgot to pay the domain registrar and the site is on hold. We are s.o.l. until then.

We have been telling people to stop by #hlfallout on gamesurge or just join halflife2.net if they want their post fix. This is a pretty ok site, (it doesn't have the maturity of hlfallout.net) it will have to do till then.

hlfallout.net was an awesome site, been there for 5 years, its a shame to have to loose it all. We just hope Bond wakes up and gets his sh** together.

thats what i told them, but they should be able to take any hazing considering what they did to the newbies back at HLF.
 
I don't think it was a comparative years thing Ace, more that HLfallout has existed a good length of time and built up a lot since those first days, which is without argument true.

I used to frequent their forums long before I was a part of HL2net.
 
Ah yes, I suppose so. Wasn't it supported by Fileplanet or something? That would certainly help it out. I never spent much time on there.

Scratch that, that was Planet Half Life or whatever.

Either way, sorry to see a website go under.

speakeasy actually supported the site for free to Mr Bond. (i guess registration wasn't, lol)
 
Sounds like his heart just isn't in it anymore. I knew things had been rocky for a while but I thought you had enough of a core community for support to continue.
 
Does anyone know Bonds e-mail? I've been trying to e-mail him recently and they always bounced back since the site has gone down.

His has been quite busy with his life, hlfallout just fell through the cracks. I think whats been driving us nuts is that people who really want to help would like to be able to add to the site and expand it (ie, need near admin powers)

We are still a strong community, and we want to keep hlfallout alive whoever possible.

I am also a HLFallout Refuge. I pretty much jumped over here in January because I saw a flag of hope and Pedobear told me it was safe. Boy was I wrong and now my butt hurts :(

You will be missed, was a good site. When you loose its leader/funding it is hard to stay up. If he lets the url name correctly someone can pick it up.

Sad to see 'em go, I used to frequent them as well. They had a great community around the time Half-Life 2 was launched, hopefully we'll start to see some of the core head over here.
