Is the first time you enter oblivion (near krevatch) supposed to be this freaking hard? I mean, its really early on in the game, but I have some pretty decent steel armor and weapons... yet I'm struggling alot.Seriously, the imps are hard enough (it takes almost all of my health and magic to just kill one) but those huge 7ft tall hellish warriors that have lighting staffs are insane! Did most people preform many many quests to level up further to take on the first oblivion gate? Do you recommend I run around and preform random quests until I feel that I'm ready? I'm nearly done with the level, I've made it to that huge tower in the middle, but once I'm in there it becomes impossible.

Yes it was hard i did complete that gate too. All i did is once i killed a guy i made sure i used magika to get my health full before i aproach a new enemy. Key thing is to block all there attacks and then strike.

Took me 25-30 mins maybe once inside the gate. I was level 2 at the time. A few of the enemies were fairly difficult. But all in all i didn't find it that hard.

It seems imo that it's easier the lower level you are, I had an easier time completing it at level 2 than I had on level 13.:)

Lure the enemies into the lava, always works :D

Yeh, thats what I did. :D

Powerstrike them into lava. Works a treat. I've close 3 OB Gates now, those stones you get rock.

What do those stones actually do ? I have the one from the kvatch gate, but is it actually of any use ?

Click it in your invontory and you can enchant a weapon (Sword or bow) to do the damage it says. Think the one at Kvatch is 10pt damage.

I was afraid to use them to enchant because I didn't know if I would need them again. It was too much of a benefit to pass up though so I used it anyway.

When in tough dungeons or oblivion planes I rest when I'm low on hp and mana whenever I get the chance. I never did buy a single potion. Taking the place room by room is the key. You can always fall back and rest somewhere.

As for those sigil stones...I have 19 of them and haven't even used one. I figured I'd wait until the end of the game when I'm not likely to find better equipment. I'll probably just make my armor badass or something since my weapon is already enchanted.

I did like AmishSlayer did, and every couple of monsters i killed I just rested and regained full health.

However when by the end I just made a dash for the Stone running past the baddies and grabbing it and hiding until i appeared back at Kvatch. A prime tactic for a theif who has insanely low blade experience i think ^_^

I've done that a few times. The stone is worth more to me than the experience and time it takes killing the guards.

i was also surprised by the difficulty of Oblivion, i just entered the 1st gate after getting back to the main quest after finally curing my vampirism, damn its tough(lvl 11 btw), the flame archanon's or whatever they're called took a hell of a beating before they die for me, i have a decent blade too but tbh my blade level is awful, i've been using my bows and arrows all the time and my speed to evade and flank etc but have few bows left atm so am forced to duel it out up close, if there's more than 2 enemies at a time im buggered...

Just closed another. Had a closed gate and a massive way round. So did my fortify health spell and ran across the Lava. :D

Just ran to top and stole the stone. Couldn't be botherd killing stuff.

hehe thats what i did just now on the 1st :p, got near it but had 4 guys tailing me so just thought fook that and legged it to the top...

The Kvatch portal was easy enough for me, but I'm having problems clearing the city. e.g. my only 1-h weapon broke. Since it's magic and my armorer isn't high enough that means I can't use a shield anymore. Sucky.

Also I become far more outnumbered in the rest of the city than I was through the portal.

yay! I completed it after a long while by defeating an enemy, hiding and reagaining my health, and then running back and defeating another one. I didn't even bother clearing out the city, I just went with martin to weynon priory

You get the stones? Haha. That is awesome. What do they do?

Use the dificulty slider, at default I found it to be abit to hard. Try lowering it until it suits you.

If you hammer your 'use' key while grabbing a stone you'll pick up more than one. I was like doing a conga beat with it while I picked one up and I realised that I'd received more than one. lol

That a pretty big bug there. Having a ton of stones could make you realy powerfull.
