i just found out that George A Romero made a new zombie movie

"Diary of the Dead"

**** YEAH!!!!!!!!

have to watch this if it is the last thing i do!

edit: **** **** **** **** ****

he's doing at least 3 more zombie movies!! i never get tired of zombies!

edit#2: god ****ing unbelivable shit...one of the guys in diary of the dead shoots a bow and arrow....holy crap...that's my sport....
it just doesn't get any better.

Alright, have fun getting motion sickness.

ok i do agree that shaky cams are totally lame...but i need some new zombie material. and i'll take almost anything...

I was very dissapointed. I tried really, really hard to like it. But it was meh.

Old as ****, also, shitty movie.
seconded, I think Romero has done Zombie movies to death, and should focus on a different type of horror movie

a movie about aliens would be interesting, as long as Romero doesn't make them aliens that eat brains

Bloody awful movie, as was Land of the Dead. You'd think it'd be hard to mess up something as simple and fun as a Zombie movie, but Romero manages it time after time by trying to be clever.

*sticks a grenade filled with social commentary up Romero's ass*

There's some good gore and funny moments. Minus out the wanky mesage Romero tries to put across and the one tree hill moments, and there's some fun to be found here (it's still poo).

well i've seen it...i have kind of mixed feelings.

the shaky cam was better than in cloverfield. in the beginning while there was less action it maybe felt ok. it was kind of plausible. but filming and doing nothing while your best buddy is being attacked by a zombie really felt stupid. well i've kind of thrown a blind eye to the three first person camera idea so won't complain that much, but sometimes it destroyed the immersion.
i was kind of pissed a bit that there were so many cheap tricks used as a scare, which it didn't affect me since i've got used to it. but i believe even without those you can make a scary movie.
the last third of the movie was getting really silly. the run in the woods thing for instance.

all in all 2/3 of the movie was enjoyable, the beginning was quite nice i really can't complain too much. i'd definitely change some parts of the movie. the end...meh, don't care. oh and the social commentary...well it was overdone. yes the gore was done well and felt in place.

oh and yay for the bow and arrow...made me giggle in a positive kind of way.

i'd give the movie an overall 70% score from an ordinary persons perspective and a 83% from a fans viewpoint.

Romero's problem is he makes the average person a total moron. But that's his stance on society. Seems like people are always screwing each other over in his movies which drives me insane. I think people would do the complete opposite, just like we saw during 9/11.

My favorite Zombie movie is the newest Dawn of the Dead, but only the first 15 minutes of it. As soon as they reach the Mall, the movie goes downhill quickly.

A good zombie movie would need inspiration from a whole bunch of sources. Resident Evil, I am Legend (the book), The DOOM novels, etc.

I almost like the original, night of the living dead movie overall.

I've only seen a few zombie movies, and I'm wondering, what makes a really good zombie movie? The locations? The gore? The survivors?

I definitely think the location does make a difference. I would like to see more zombie movies focus on the suburbs like Dawn of the Dead did at the beginning.

I know what I don't like in a Zombie movie. Unrealistic weapons, unrealistic accuracy, dickhead characters, a negative view on the armed forces trying to protect people.

I love it when the story unfolds with chaos and confusion. Hearing those large bomb sirens going off, the vague, repeated warnings on the radio, hordes being mistaken for riots, etc.

I wanna see people pull off clever crap in a zombie movie and use their head realistically. Moving away from the denser populated areas into more rural areas. People making plans on obtaining food and water. Groups of people raiding abandoned homes for firearms and useful supplies.

The movie would need to handle things like how the Left 4 Dead director works. Balance out the hectic events with slower parts too.

The newest Dawn of the Dead and the 28 Days movies are the only decent zombie movies that I've seen in ages, tbh.
Land of the Dead, while a fun romp, was way too out there to be a plausible zombie scenario.
Diary of the Dead was just, I personally hate first person camera movies, because they always make the person holding the camera be a god damn retard that never really helps with anything... and that was basically completely evident throughout the movie.

Zombie movies are a one trick pony, it seems.

pretty much what you've said. oh and i too like the beginning confusion and panic, the tension of things to come. that's my best part of any zombie movie. actually not seeing zombies is scarier than confronting them.

we could summon it up with..."in george romeros world people obviously never heard of zombies, so they act completely idiotically when they come".

even tough i'm an expert on zombies, whenever i'd see someone waking up after he died in wouldn't hesitate hitting him in the head.

what i've really liked in this movie is that zombies were slow moving and stupid. not like in land of the dead or dawn of the dead.

diary seemed to have lot's of potential but it had a lot of design flaws. all in all a good movie if you're a fan, otherwise it's not that awesome i thought it would be.

oh man how would i love to have one of those matrix type worlds so i could live trough a zombie scenario...that would be so awesome...

My personal favorite is zombification by hellish powers rather than a virus.

The 2nd novel in the DOOM series is a great read when it comes to zombie survival.

You'd fit in quite well at ARFCOM...
