In a world-first the zoo will have an enclosure housing people as part of a program to demonstrate humans are part of the animal kingdom.

Four groups of six people will be chosen to participate in the month-long project, each group staying in the enclosure for a week.

Vets will check their health and they will be given behavioural stimulation devices such as puzzles and exercise equipment.

They will be fed like the zoo's other great apes, with some food being hidden to encourage their foraging skills.

While the program has a scientific basis it also owes some inspiration to reality shows such as Big Brother. Each weekend a celebrity "zooloper" will join the group, usually a sports star who will bring in sporting equipment for stimulation.

The public will also be able to vote for their favourite exhibit, with the human with the highest number of votes at the end of each week getting a prize. The $2 cost of the SMS to vote will go towards conservation projects.

"We will be running a scientific program to see how groups of people interact the same as we would look at a group of great apes.

"This is about science, education and also some fun."

Yuck. You would never get me in there :monkee::x:monkee:

They should be naked, are they going to be naked?

It would only be right because the other animals don't get clothes.

Edit: Nevermind, I read it, nope

I think that someone should set up a project that's like Big Brother, but when the 'flatmate's enter the house, they all get blown up.

I'd watch it, at least.

EDIT: Only people like those who are in Big Brother will get in obviously, so it's an automatic <50 IQ maximum to get in.

Humans fashioning clothes is part of our nature. There's no such thing as "un natural" if humans have the capability to become intelligent beings capable of things from using tools to harnessing electricity. Just because we are the only species that can do it doesn't mean it's "un natural". Perhaps there can only be one species that is dominant, because the other one would be vanquished.

It reminded me of a thing we had here. A zoo in Stockholm would exhibit a bunch of Kenyans in their traditional clothes, to increase understanding of other cultures, but it had the opposite effect, seeing as they were right next to the monkies.

lol, what a horrible thing to do.

Is that how you treat illegal immigrants in Sweden?

:| They were not immigrants, they we're invited to participate in a project. Although, they should'nt have picked the zoo.

I would do it just to **** with people. I would pretend that I started going insane and would start humping random objects and doing barrel rolls.

I would be the alpha male so all the females are mine

sure visitant will ask the guides "and when is the coupling season?"

One week? That's a retarded length. It's like camping for crying out loud.

<rummages through a bush> Oh look, I found a big mac! My rummaging skills are fantastic.

<rolls his eyes>

It's just a publicity stunt for the zoo. Heh.

I still say they should start off naked. But have the zoo put items in here and there so they can eventually fashion clothing out of.

I wonder if the vets will take their temperatures like all the other animals. :O

Some animals... like a certain type of crab... will dress itself up with various items to make itself more pretty.

I think of them as clothes :)

that's cool, i'd do it

I`ll do it, provided I am supplied with a large number of big rocks.

So that I can bash the other guys over the head and eat me some brains. I bet the public would love to see that.

wow that's like the best job ever ...do they wipe your ass too? cuz if so I'm there!
