Hope you don't have a warez version of HL2...

omg ... the ppl will cry over their non existing steam accounts :)

Valve didn't release a warez version of HL2

I'm willing to bet that that isn't true, and it is scare tatics to keep people away from the Warezed versions.
I paid for mine anyway, so it doesn't bother me :D

We're running a bit of an experiment. We're keeping track of the accounts that do this and will be shutting them off.

Sounds like you're new to the Internet.

"Hope you don't have a warez version of HL2"

Then after you talk about them releasing a warez version on bittorent.

So if a person has a warez version, oh noes, there accounts gonna get banned and to stop them from using their steam accounts.

LMAO. So just to sum it up, basically you have no idea about any of the stuff you posted here. Links to false and fake information.

But I won't rip you apart. You're just reporting what was posted by someone who is pumping out his own idea of what Gabe said (Which is pure BS btw).

Gabe: We're running a bit of an experiment. We're keeping track of the accounts that do this and will be shutting them off.

The False News: "So, as you can see, VALVe Software have released a test "warez" version aimed at catching people out. These people will have their accounts deleted and will be banned from Steam. "

HAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAAH. So they release a *test* version that catches people out. According to Gabe they are running an experi ment to keep track of the users connected to steam who use a bypass method to play HL2 over steam. Those people who are doing this will have their accounts deleted and banned from steam. That makes much more logical sense.

Where in the HELL does the "test" version idea come from? Where the hell does Gabe say they were releasing one over bittorent.

THIS IS steam related. Man, some people make me so mad. It is like the media in Iraq. Most the stuff reported they twist it all around and turn it into a bunch of lies.

I see this type of *press* also exist in the gaming news world. Retards.

Fact is, EMPORIO released a working version that emulates steam. There is nothing Valve or Gabe can do about this and they sure in hell can't shut down accounts that use emulated software.

Silly hardcore twisted speculation freaks. If they're gonna report stuff they might as well check out the stuff for themselves. This is as bad as a news channel reporting that 40,000 US soldiers have been killed when only 2 were, because some guy said "Oh man I saw a massive amount of soldiers get gunned down. There were LOADS of bodies. It was like Vietnam".

Hahahahah

Damn I hate people who crack games...... nothing but trouble for us loyal customers.

You are 100% right on that point, I am sure most loyal customers would go along with your point.

I've only ever downloaded one game from warez (that was Return to Castle Wolfenstein) years ago. I like having the boxes on my shelf. Anyways, I can see how £35 is a lot of cash for someone who is either out of work or a school kid. Perhaps we need gamers to be means-tested before giving them a price :) [btw: if you are out of work, you should be out looking for a job, not playing video games!].

impressive rant, although factually incorrect.

Emporio released a cracked HL2, but it didn't work
