As the title states, after about 30 minutes of use, my emachines Laptop get terrible artifacts... lines around the mouse, big bars all over my screen.
I wouldn't be so surprised if I was getting it while gaming, but I get these constantly...I rebooted the computer and my bios looked the same way.

This is really bad, I'm afraid of running it for fear of frying something.
I think it has something to do with the fact that the fans stopped running while I'm using windows. If I reboot it, the fans run, but as soon as windows loads, the fans don't work anymore.

HELP!!!

sounds like a definite heat problem to me.....I'm not sure about this, but maybe there are chipset drivers or something you could install? How old is the laptop? Is it windows XP?

Oh! better service fans as this is most likely heat related problem.
You can cause more damage if you continue working it.

Good Luck.

I think it's shot now. I let it sit in a cool room until it reached room temperature, booted it up, same problem.

I'm REALLY PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW. *sigh*

Sorry mate. Is that thing still under warranty or did it just run out as usual? if it is don't try to open it as you may break the seal and void warranty. Just call manufacturer.

call them, even if you out of warranty, they may still be able to help you over the phone.
