Alright, since I figure these forums have some of the smartest guys around, I'd ask here.

My darn CS:S keeps on stalling on me. I'd just be playing then BOOM I just stay in place, incapable of doing anything. Then, 10 seconds later, I jerk forwards and then I can play again (if I'm not already dead that is).

I think this is some kind of latency issue, but I'm not sure. I've played around with a few settings, but nothing solves the problems. If anyone has any ideas what is causing this or how I can fix it, please do tell.

I take it that you have broadband, and all other games work fine...

If so, i'm stumped.

256k DSL.

Yep I played The Trenches this morning without any of these problems.

i get it more often but for alot less length of time(half a second).

Same thing here. I think it may be linked with the physics but I'm not sure. I get extremely fluid framerates, and then the computer will just stall sometimes. It's not just mine getting slowdown either because everyone else bitches about it at the same time.

I've seen it happen without any major physics interaction, but it's possible that may be going on somewhere nearby to cause the stall.

I actually think that may be very possible. Question is: Can we fix it or is this a Valve issue?
