So, I've forwarded ports 27015 TCP/UDP and I've allowed everything in Zonealarm. I tried connecting to the server via the external IP but I highly doubt that it is actually possible to do that. :P

I tried canyouseeme.org and checked port 27015 and it gave me the a'ok and I also tried pinging the external ip (xx.xx.xx.xx:27015) and it successfully pings.

I'm going to be hosting a game tomorrow so I can play test my map with a friend. With all this information I have gave you, should everything work fine?

If not, I have a no-ip address (name.no-ip.com) and would like to know how I can force the server to use that address.

I have no experience with no-ip and such but I know that if you want to run it from your house you're going to want a static IP address. I think that if you want more control over the ports/ips your going to want to use the real SRCDS. Although I highly discourage running both server and game at the same time on the same computer.

If you need testing in the future or cant get this to work soon, I have a dedicated server in a data center with SRCDS on it. I would be happy to allow you to run small playtests on it, just PM me. Although, at the moment, the box is here at my house for repairs/upgrades, so it will be a week or so until it's up and running.

No-IP acts like a static IP. Every time the IP changes, the program updates the url to match.

Is 27015 the only port that needs forwarding?

Either 27005 or 27010 also needs to be forwarded I think.

if you are trying to access your no-ip url insdie your LAN it will not work. You can not access your local network inside your local network using the WAN IP address because of how NAT works. Have a friend thats on an outside line test it for you to see if it works.

If you need to access the server on your internal network simply use the local IP address (IE 192.168.1.x).

Hope that helps.
