Is there a downloadable program, or (from what ive seen) are they only actual external components that cost the earth?

awesome, cheers.

Actually Garfield, just tried these, none of the links seem to work. Am I doing something wrong? Tried 'save target as'

I second that one. ;)

I third it! When CS:S went beta, I was having memory errors and/or the game would quit itself and go straight to the desktop. I used MEMTEST and found my memory to have errors, so I went about bought some CORSAIR XMS memory - no errors and haven't had a problem since. :bounce:

If this test finds ANY errors should I be RMAing? I didn't do the whole test (cos it looks like it'll take ages) but it found 930-odd errors pretty near the start.

Note: I am not having any noticeable problems with my RAM at the moment, although I can't help thinking it should be running faster.

You shouldn't recieve any errors. I've RMA'ed RAM for one error, let alone over 900.

Just before i RMA my RAM, can these errors im receiving be reported because of imcompatibility with the motherboard, or is it entirely the RAM at fault? (i get about 1100 errors on each pass of Memtest86)

no, surely this isn't the only associated problem with bad RAM though?

bum. Upped the voltage to the RAM to 2.7 in the BIOS, and got over 5000 errors on the first pass! Gonna RMA in about an hour, so any help now would be great?
