How can I use a secondary sound device for voice in TF2?

My setup has 2 soundcards, one for ingame sounds and music (I usually have MP3's running while I play) and one for voice, both in and out.

The TF2 GUI seems to be lacking an interface to select audio device for voice, so I was wondering if there was any other way to select my secondary audio device.

Thanks in advance!

umm what?

you have 2 sound cards and one is dedicated to sound and the other for a mic?

may i ask why?

most cards today have that all on one card.

also there is no way i know of that can do what you want to do. your only option is to use one card.

Surround sound, microphone for the second card. It's possible however, it's not TF2 that's the problem... Go to your sound options and there should be Record, Playback, Wave and voice. Play around with them until you get it.

surrond sound only uses 3 ports whether it be 5.1 or 7.1 and then there should be 3 left over. line in,mic, and digital out

The reason I want to isolate voice from game sounds and music is that I have trouble hearing what people are saying. Maybe my hearing is a little bit weird. In addition the microphone volume varies a lot from player to player, so adjusting incoming voice volume is not the answer.

I like being able to put on or take off my headset whenever I feel like listening/talking without having to go into the menu to mute/unmute voice each time.

Usually, I play game sounds and music on my speakers, and use my secondary audio device for voice with my headset and microphone.

Wether or not I have a single card with 2 audio devices or 5 different soundcards, the problem is still the same since I can't tell the game which device to use for voice (it defaults to the primary device).

If I go to [windows] sound settings I can make all sound come through my headphones instead of my speakers, but I don't want that. Besides, I don't want to have to change it every time I want to play and every time I'm done playing.
