you'll need a website idea (which i'll assume you have), a web editor (frontpage [yuck], DreamWeaver [good]), you might need Flash depending how profficient you are, you might need Photoshop if you're planning on having groovy images on your site. lastly you need to find a decent host. someone who's reasonably priced, has good features and won't limit you to a shitty upload and bandwidth (ie. don't use www.123-reg.co.uk :flame: )

Lol, notepads fine if you want to learn ALL html, but that can be very tedious and daunting for many. Use Dreamweaver, that's what I've used since I was 12. Photoshop is a must, tutorials always help... and DEFINATELY look at other top web-sites, and take notes; learn from their errors and from the successes! THAT IS KEY!

Dreamweaver is fine but you it will screw you over if do not know html.

Ok maybe not, but I do use notpad for html. Once you get used to it, its far easier and less fussy than an editor. Having said that, I'm not exactly amazing at it but I wanna learn php, which is what you need for forums like this

It has a preview thingy and color text (OMG)! Way better than Notepad..
