Hi, I don't create models, but I am an appreciative user. Keep up the great work, guys!

I've looked through the posts and some tutorials, but I can't find the answer to my problem.

I want to replace the standard deathmatch in-game models with all of your wonderful custom models. I managed to turn the combine police (metrocop) into a custom citizen model. I did this by renaming the custom citizen .vmt, vvt, .etc files so they were the same as the metrocop files and swapping them with the metrocop_sheet.*** files in ..\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\materials\models\police\

I can't seem to get the rest of the combine or citizens to change. I've tried doing the same thing with the combine_[whatever].*** files in ..\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\materials\models\Combine_soldier\

I think my problem lies in all the vmt/vtf files (eye.vmt/vtf, hair.vmt/vtf etc.) I see laying around in the ..\materials\models\player\custom\ folder that comes with the custom models you guys create. I don't know where to put them.
The second half of my problem is probably that the ..\models\ directory of the custom model pack that I'm trying to use doesn't have any .vtf files while so I've been leaving the combine_XXX.vtf files alone.

Needless to say, this results in a really shiny combine soldier with no skin. Not quite the result I was hoping for.

If anyone understands my problem and could give me some help, I would greatly appreciate it.

first i think you only have to replace the mdl-file .. leave the other custom-model-files like they are called (this the way i´m putting my models into cs.s)

if you do NOT see the texture its only a problem with the Folder the texture should be but isn´t

you may not rename the texture-file wich comes with the custom model!!
put it only in the right sub-material-folder
