how do I use a controller?

Does this game support controllers?

Specifically, I want to use my xbox controller, without having to reach for the keyboard or mouse at all.

Is this possible? I know I need an adapter, and the proper driver... but will Half Life 2 work with this setup? Can you direct me to a site that tells you how?

as of right now.. i modded my xbox controller and it works with other games.. i cannot figure out how to use it with hl2

i find mouse and keyboard easier then controllers but idk of any ways to do that
