If the stolen build didnt have AI or enemies, im pretty sure you wouldn't be able to play it and find out the ending, so did people get hold of the script or story or something?

What gives?

the stolen build was pretty darned complete, and most know through the script leak with the css beta

I don't know exactly what you mean, but I believe the PC Gamer UK reviewer said the ending could be better.

*For those who know something about the ending by playing the beta, please don't post spoilers :)*

The AI DID work in the beta. I remember it being pretty damn good as well.

As for the ending, it was probably put together from the voice script that was leaked over Steam.

the script was leaked with the first cs:s beta to the cyber cafes, then removed, but not before it was leaked onto the net.

I heard people had to do a LOT of work to get basically a physics engine with a few maps working. Didn't realise how finished it was.

In the beta, the ending was discovered through sound bites (although Im sure we missed something) while the CSS script leak also did its bit.

The beta had working physics, enemies and the works. But it was nowhere near finished. It was still quite good :D

Yeah, it was so far past finished that it was infact not a beta. The first beta build was about the time of E3 2004.

Nope, it all worked. It was just really, really unfinished and buggy.

Hmm I think you meant 2003.

Nah 2004. The leaked version shows that only a few days away from 9/30/2003 release date it was in alpha. Very far from done I might add...

Nah it said the ending was great

only the fact that it had to end was bad

The E3 2003 maps included with the stolen build were really buggy and unfinished, showing that the build pre-dated E3 2003.

Yeah I know that but he's saying: "The first beta build was about the time of E3 2004".

They did? :O

''I want to bemoan the fact that it had to end at all (no matter the excellence of that ending)''

Doesn't sound bad to me... :|
