How do u enable the console interface to put cheats on HL1

guys hes talking about hl1 not hl2. all you need to do is press the tilde key which is located above the tab key and to the left of the 1 key.

He has a pirated copy... warze i assume? i know... i have the same copy... im getting rid of it though cuz it dont work and i dont wany it any more any way...

EDIT: its gone so dont get on my back about it... had problems with it, knew you wouldnt help cuz it was stolen... blah blah blah.

If you do have a pirated version, Capbud, just download steam and buy HL1 off of there...
If that's not an option, well, don't expect these forums to help you with illegal software.

its not even expencive! it cost like 5 bux in stores! you might even be able to get a used copy some place!

Its not illegal. I bought the Half Life 2 Game of the year edition which came with it.

Capbud, as soon as you open the game, there'll be a button on the left called "Options". Press it and it'll open the options. There will be a button called "Keyboard" and contains your keyboard settings. There should be another button there now called "Advanced" where you'll find tick boxes. Tick "Enable Developer Console", and click OK, and then press the button directly to the left of the number 1 and directly above your TAB key. This opens the console.

In HL1 there is no "Advanced" button. In HL2 there is.

Anyway, I just loaded up HL1 and by pressing the tilde key either in-game or at the menu, the console should come up.

hes playing half life 1 : source... right? thats the one that comes with GOTY edition isnt it?
