How do you access HL1 sound files?

I'm just wondering how you can find the music files in the Half-Life 1 folder.

You need a program to view the contents of the GCF files, like GCFscape or hl2studio

It should be in the source sounds.gcf. Just go to the music section and extract.

He has HL1. Source wasn't around back then. Neither was HL2.
In this case, you cannot get the files off unless you have something to open up the .cab files.
I believe the music is in 1 of those .cab files on the HL1 CD.

Yes, there is. It's called PowerArchiver
