How do you make maps?

Hey all, i realy want to make a single player player map for half life 2 and i was wondering what you use to make maps? thnx in advance

You are supposed to use the HAMMER EDITOR. Go to your PLAY GAMES LIST>SOURCE SDK>HAMMER EDITOR

maps??

in steam/play games down near the bottom is a button that says.

source SDK
click on that and the mapping tools and all the examples will be downloaded for you.

once it's downloaded you will get several choices.
applications:
Hammer
model viewer
face poser

click on the hammer as that is what the editor is called.
this should run hammer.

Lol, I'm on 28,8k and I'm downloading it right now. :thumbs:
I hope I will live long enough to use it... :O

LOL, kalan i feel for u i have 28.8k dial up too. I packed my pc up and took it to my friends house to download everything, it works much better that way : ), but usually when i need to download something i do it at night, and set my pc so it shuts down at a sertain time.
