How do you make maps?

How do you lot make maps?

I usually get inspired and start to draw some designs on a piece of paper. Then I map them out, but the map usually turns out better then I would of ever thought

yeah, something like that, though occasionally i sculpt them out of mashed potatoes while eating or even there was this one time i used cement and chicken wire to make a huge map in the living room then i saw what i was making on TV surrounded by black helicopters and it freaked me out
