mostly iTunes... but once in a while KaZaA Lite K++ is my friend
*thehunter1320 changes ISPs
... you?

I get it from the store... and also from K-Lite/torrents, but I'll still buy it if I like what I get from those...

I use Kazaa Lite K++ most of the time, but bands I really like I go out to the store to get.

Edit - I agree with letters. If I like what I've downloaded I'll go out to the store and buy it.

How about all three? I use iTunes, KaZaA, and I purchase online/in stores.
That makes me better than you, in case you were wondering.

Ugh, I can't believe people still use Kazaa. I don't know if I can make a better case for DC++ other than:

You can find any movie or piece of music ever made

Doesn't matter if you're looking for an obscure band from Finland, or fansubbed anime, or some VHS-only movie. You name it, they have it. You might have to do a bit of looking around but that only makes it more fun.

Other highlights:

- No known RIAA infiltration (the setup makes it almost impossible)
- Shares are nicely organized
- Good community with chat/trivia
- No overhead, very fast connections

My music is delivered to my by the nymph elf's of dkaagjibulardia.

But mostly k-lite, I really only have like 20 songs on my comp, I don't listen to music that much.

Last time I remember, Mods Such as Chris_D Warned me that he is going to ban me if I mentioned any thing About warez. And Now there is a whole thread on warez both Legal and Illegal.

Apparently DC++ is a file sharing program.
I'd never head of it.

I usually download samples from bands' websites and buy their CD(s) if I like what I hear. If I can't find any/enough songs on their site I use KaZaA to get a sample.

Yarr!

Arrr, matey. This be a good year for thievery.

K-Lite, DC++, and Winampradiostation-listening. (monkeyradio.org r0xx0rs) I think I haven't bought a single music cd.

Gorgon I threatened to ban you because once again you were requesting a link to download a Blink 182 track.

Anybody that has even been caught Paying for a Blink 182 CD should be shot on site.

I don't like DC++ very much.

I like BitTorrent mostly for random music, but if I want to get specific I use Kazaa.

Like most people I download songs (used to be from kazaa, now its the full album usually from eMule) and if its any good I'll cough up some pennies for it... suffice to say I dont own many cds.

radio to hear tunes, kazaa to find out if the songs a fluke, or if the bands good. then buy at store.

well i don't download alot of music.. but when i do, its Kazaa K++

i support the bands i enjoy listening to.. fair enough right? :E

I go to the store, or sometimes borrow cds from other people if I'm just wondering if it's any good. Sometimes bands put up some songs on their websites, so I'll download those. There's not really that many cds that I really want, so I'm ok with buying. Besides, it forces me to narrow down choices and make sure I actually want something, which is good in a way since I don't end up with loads of junk that I don't really like.

No one has said anything about Shareaza. Shareaza rox0rz for finding obscure stuff. Sure the search might take a week  but it finds it. :bounce:

The last thing i used kazaa for was por....Uh a free information video sent out by the government.

As for my music, i wont lie to you....

I just can't understand (well actually, I do) why a music CD can cost as much as a DVD just released blockbuster .

For example, a Spears CD costs around 25-35€, while 'Pirates of the Caribean' DVD costs 30€.
It's just silly.

So yes, when I find a song that I like, I get it off the P2P net. Rarelly do I buy a full album. If Apple ever gets iTunes to work in Europe, I'll use that gladlly. Wippit, and others, are just to expensive for my 'needs'.

Oh, and downloading music off p2p networks is legal where I live.

i dunno where u come from but music cds are usually half the price of dvds :\

Since when is bad taste a banable offence? Freakin nazis =/

I only really got into music about two or three years ago, and since I've been going nuts catching up on bands I missed out on and getting into new ones, music's pretty important to me. As such I really respect the artists (some of them), so if I can I'll buy the CD.

However I do have a collection of MP3's I've downloaded from Kazaa (very few, I usually delete them after I play em enough), and a couple hundred megs I ripped off CD's (mostly mine, just so I can shuffle in Winamp).

I'm making a new thread to continue the trend of late, be there or... not :|

Half it's price is still way to much. Consider the time, people and money needed to makee a movie, and then compare it with a music album.

And I don't know the price of a CD because I haven't bought one since... 1995 or so.

Don't be so damn cheap. I can afford twelve or fifteen dollars.

I've downloaded albums, and I'll continue to. I really opnly do it because I'm impatient (however I have vowed that as soon as I get a regular income, I'm buying all of them :) ). I do buy albums frequently though.

i always use kazaa, i dont give a rats ass about artists complaing. They can bitch about it all they want but i dont think they're too poorly off.
