title says all,

this really does show how little I know about computers.

At the top of every page you visit on the internet there is a navigation tool bar for "URL"s, which is the fancy name for a link. This is the 'location' of where this page is stored. If you click this at the top and highlight the text, then right click and click copy (or ctrl + c) and paste it wherever (right click and paste or ctrl + v).

Practice with this one: http://www.google.co.uk or http://www.halflife2.net

To make a word a link it's pretty simple. When posting a reply you can click the 'globe' with the link underneath it button after highlighting a word or phrase. It will ask you to put your link in the box (paste it in), then press OK.

If you want to do this manually all you need to do is open up URL tags and put an equals sign then the link:

[ URL=http://www.halflife2.net ]Click this link![/URL ]

Take the spaces out of that phrase and you get this:

Click this link!

This manual way of doing it is exactly the same technique as using the button at the top, but it's useful to know as well.
