Ok, the thing is some DVD movies are recorded with such low sound volume, so that turing the volume up the regular way is not enough.
So is there a way you can just keep increasing the sound untill your speakers can't make it any louder anymore. Or any program for that.

Oh and is there a way to set in winamp or WMP how loude a song is played.
For example I have "rocket man-elton john", and that one is recorded with really low volume, I have also "new desease-spineshank". SO if I have my volume set to 50% rocketman is really quite while new desease is very loude. Can I set rocketman to be played autoaticly louder while new desease quiter. And is there a program which lets me set it in the audiofile itself so it works with every music player.

On, windows media player there is an option on ur bottom for 'Graphic Equalizer' they are your sound controls for higher pitch volume. Also if you goto start, all programs, accessories, entertainment there is a volume control in there, make sure ur volume & wave is to full.

If the Windows Volume/Speaker icon is in the bottom right hand corner then double click on it and ensure that Volume Control and Wave are at the correct level.

Then go to Control Panel > Speaker Volume... > and make sure they're both on high.

That should help a bit. Obviously the volume controls in WMP need to be at the appropriate levels as well.

Or just buy some new speakers perhaps, if the other suggestions didn't work.

sony soundforge is a good program that will let you edit sound files and higher their volume, it doesnt work for video files tho.
Also winamp has a few plugins (like 4front) that allow you to higher the volume then the maximum volume managed by windows, most of these plugins arent really ment for raising the volume but it will higher the volume slightly,

I tried all of those things guys, I even went to the configuration screen, and then to speech/sounds/ and set everything to max . Those are the standard methods.
And it's not my speekers, I know for sure they can produce much higher volumes. Cause I have listend to music files and DVD's much louder. But some, even with all those things turned to the highest still have a low volume. I hoped someone allready had, had the same porblem like me and figured some hidden windows option, that lets you just keep increasing the volume.

If every volume bar on your pc is at max, you really can only get it louder with en external amplifier (they are built in in most speaker systems). Other than that, I really think it's impossible.

But I know for sure my speakers can produce louder music, it's just that some DVD's are recorded in such a low noise that even with everything on full the movie volume still is low.Oh yeah and I forgot to mention the buttons on the speaker which you have to turn to increase volume are also turned to full.

Oh and Thnx Axyon, that program is the best. Small/simple/effective no BS.\

Well thnx for all the reply's.

Its called dynamic range. DVDs are recorded to be played back on a range of systems, but because they are usually viewed by people who sit down and don't get up again until the film has finished, they are recorded to maximise the full range of your television/cinema system.

Erm that sounds like balls, so let me simplify:

Quiet stuff on a DVD sounds quiet
Loud stuff on a DVD sounds loud

Just like a cinema

If you want it to be louder, you need to compress the audio. WMP allows you to do this.

You might try checking the sound setup on the DVD's in question, some default to 5.1, for example...
