I was just wondering, because I submitted something using the Submit link on the front page a few days ago and it still hasn't been posted. I understand that only a fraction of the things that get submitted are actually important and will be posted but I'd think that Half-Life 2 winning 4 awards at the Gamer's Choice awards of Australia's biggest gaming website would qualify as news material? I posted these news on this very forum ( http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=62728 ). Now I'd think that a survey in which 30,000 people voted, Half-Life 2 got the majority vote by over 60% in most of the categories it won should be mentioned in the News section (its nice to think something we aussies do gets mentioned form time to time ).
I'm not trying to criticize you in any way, and if you did receive my submission but thought it wasn't worth posting that's fine too, but I was just wondering, as the topic title says, what the proper way to submit news is. Because that submit button on the main page, which I used for this, seemed to be more for feedback about the site.
Well, now that I'm posting anyways, I'd just like to say great work with the site and the forums as well; this is one of the nicest forum communities I visit frequently!
