How does HL2.net like metallica?

Sounds pretty good, I don't know much about drumming but it was loud and you did the Metallica thang, so keep it up. Drummers are always difficult to find where I live.

Also, your cymbals are broken by the way, you'll find that out when you get a haircut so you can actually see!

I didn't notice that... Is that why my hands get cut when I try to smack&grab?

Thanks, btw. If you were in my basement at the time you would leave with bloody ears. :D

Metallica hates your cymbals.

Sweet playing. Went out of time a bit, but I know how awkward it can be playing to recordings like that.

I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but you have the perfect ****ing drummer 'do, man. So metal. :bonce:

I've been wanting to cut it so I can do the windmill, so I'm growing it out nice and long.

For the love of everything take care of your drum set, unless you got it in that state shopping in the junk yard. Now you have most the basic 4/4 patterns pretty well and fitting it in with rolls and having it well adjusted with your feet. I recommend trying more timings and practising off beats and for the love of everything that is good, fast and hard isn't the mantra of drumming.

Van_Halen playing Metallica? Isn't that a conflict of genres?

Thank you for... That.

Though I was playing to a song, and this is definitely not the extent of my skill, it did take me many a month to get the speed right on this. I've heard many different opinions on drumming, and from what I can tell, different drummers opinions are like they are in anything else, people disagree. Most drummers tell me I need different cymbals (I use ZBTs, and they are just sheet bronze) and others tell me I'm hitting too hard, yet, I don't hit near as hard as Lars and he does just fine.

The red set was sold to me for $120, though it was only 2 years old, the previous owner had left it in their garage and never played it, so it got a little tattered. Drumming, as I have come to find, is a rich man's hobby. :p

But, you are right, and I know, speed isn't everything in drumming, but it is goddamn fun to hit fast and hard. That is the best reason I have for hitting so hard... But it all evens out.

I'm going to go record a Van Halen song soon, guys. :D

Here's another video... Just me messing around on my kit, nothing big, but it'l give you a better idea of what i can play.

Bah, nvm, look at the other one, below.

check out my awesomeness

it's pretty bad, this was from like 4 years ago and I think i did it all in a day. No vocals because I can't sing for shize

The song called "Jam" is original though, I sorta like it....it needs words

Get new cymbals and practice. A lot. You're alright but in all honesty you aren't that good - which isn't a bad thing. You're pretty young and I imagine haven't been playing drums for more than a couple of years. My best friend (who has lived in the house behind me since we were both 3 years old) has been drumming for almost 10 years now and is seriously kickass-level good. He got that way by practicing pretty much non-stop since he was in 6th grade. You're okay right now and you have potential and plenty of time, so practice!

Well... What do you suggest I practice, or how? I don't understand how you can tell the extent of my drumming for two videos, one of me playing a song by a different band, and the other me just messing around with random things I think up on the fly...

Btw, if you could send me $600 I'll gladly get new cymbals, however, I do not have the money. I could have gotten it for Christmas, but I needed a new computer, so that's what I got. :p

Also, do you have a video of you, or your friend drumming? I'd like to see it. :)

By the way, don't take this the wrong way cause I know you were being nice. Sometimes I come off the wrong way, just didn't want that to happen. :p

EDIT: Alright, you want rolls?

Here!

I've only heard "one" because of guitar hero lol. I don't listen to them much, the question is: should I?

Yeah, I wasn't trying to offend you man, just being honest :p I don't know the extent of your drumming, I was just judging what you gave us to judge.

I am not a drummer, I just spend too much time with my friend who is (and like I said he's been obsessed with drumming and music composition in general forever). He probably is on youtube somewhere, I know there's one of him rapping at a show but I dunno if it's got him drumming in it. I'll ask him. I'll also ask him what you should practice :p all the advice I can give there is that simply PLAYING is good. If you can get your chops up, and your speed up, and perfect your technique in terms of where/how you hit the drums, you will get better simply as a matter of fact.

Also don't take what I said the wrong way either, I'm not saying you're bad, you're actually quite decent, but there's always tons of room for improvement :p

I hate Enter Sandman. Metallicas alright, they bore my ears after a few songs at a time though.

Also, I f***ing hate your hair. This comes from a long haired enthusiast, not one of these jealous short haired/bald dudes.

Well you certainly are a pair of cold, sharp, pointy nipples, aren't you? :D
